The picture shows a hormonal iris, often termed as a glandular iris. The fibres in this case are close together in the main body of the iris, but nearer the pupil the fibre are open with lots of lacunaes – lakes.

This is a mixed iris – that is to say it is seen as greeny brown and has a central area of orange. The orange pigment gives a more pancreatic emphasis to this iris with the potentials to intolerance to sugar and complex carbohydrates.
Points to Note:
At twelve o’clock the iris show a pituitary gland marking and a hypothalumus marking just above which indicates a more hightened influence of the hormonal master gland.
At six o’clock is a lacuna indicating the adrenal gland, so coupled with the pituitary gland and hypothalamus markings – we now have a stress axis. This indicates that the person may have difficulties coping with stress and worry. The impact to them can be quite significant.
The iris itself is slightly oval – horizontally and this can indicate a tendancy toward deficiency in the B vitamins especially under stressful conditions.
The small dark crypt at 3 o’clock indicates a cold spot – as Iridologist Toni Miller likes to refer to them. The area is in the heart zone. It would be wise to ask this person if there has been a history of heart disease in the family. Check their blood pressure and weight/height ratio.
The large lacuna at six o’clock indicates a person who suffers from lack of self esteem.
The iris shows a lot more – but it gives a good idea of how the markings of the iris are assessed.

Good digestion and a regular bowel movements are very important with a hormonal iris. Herbs that stimulate digestion would be of benefit especially bitters and liver herbs. The regulation of the digestive tract is connected to the parasympathic nervouse system. So relaxation and stress free exercise such as walking, cycling, yoga and so on benefit this type of person. This is emphasised by the stress axis.
A constant variety of different food is beneficially however as mentioned carbohydrates and sugar should be kept to a minimum as well as large amounts of protein. Therefore lots of vegetables and moderate portions of fresh fish come to the top of the list.
The persons iris shows that they are very creative and expressive – the writer, designer, lover of visual stimulatants such as architecture and beautiful shops and interiors. However unless they conquer their self esteem issues there will always be frustration in the workplace and career.
